The Oriental Warband is a Summoner Warband created to hopefully increase in power as the campaign wears on through summoning ever more powerful demons. It does have a useful range of other spells most of which are castable with a bit of empowerment so should be able to act offensively and defensively as an all rounder.

The Wizard is Miko a repurposed Malifaux sorceror who is also a magician in my Legions Antiquitata Samurai army! She looks cool from the front with snakey hair but also from the back her head is open as a maw for summoned demons to exit!. Malifaux figures are so good I wish i still had the brain capacity to play the game.

The Apprentice is a 3d printed figure by The printing goes ever on from the Jade Empire release and has enough swirly to be obviously magical.

ree

Another Malifaux figure is the Apothecary, This is originally a Geisha from the Malifaux Ten Thunders' faction but looks sufficently non martial to act as an Apothecary. I do not have her in the initial line up where she is probably most useful to be honest and will rely on Heal.

ree

Thieves come from Kyushuneko 3d stls for Ronin who I am aware are not Thieves but are sufficently individualistic to look a bit rogueish. I could have used Ninja types but they looked at bit too pro for disposable thieves. I could also have used Wako pirates from TPGEO but I am using them later and wanted some differentiation.

ree

Thugs are also Kyushuneko 3d stls and essentially are Peasant minis! They have muscles and crude weaponry so look the part I think. Again these do double duty like most of these minis in my Samurai army.

ree

Infantry (again Kyoushuneko) are some sort of Temple warriors on the lines of Sohei monks. Kyoushuneko has a very big range of Samurai and fantasy Samurai types and some gems. That they come with 2 handed weapons is great as well.

ree

Men at arms also Kyoushuneko, in fact unless I say otherwise you can assume otherwise. TPGEO also have a good range but I had printed most of my army before they were released. I went with Samurai types rather than Ashigaru because they came with swords whereas the Ashigaru tend to have other weapons.

ree

Archers are from Malifaux Ten Thunders again. I have both Samurai and Ashigaru archer figures but having lain unused for years I decided these had the look I wanted. More of a Warrior monk vibe that I like.

ree

Crossbowmen were more of a challenge as I dont think the Samurai used them so I had to look for Chinese 3d sculpts and found this guy from the Song Dynasty period by Ten Kingdom miniatures who do a good range of Chinese. I printed off a couple but have only painted one to date who will be either a standard Crossbowman or a Marksmen. I don't anticipate using two Crossbowmen in a list so if I ever do I will just paint up the other.

ree

As a Tracker I will be using this Wako pirate by TPGEO. There are several of these coming into the list and this female pirate has the vibe I want for a Tracker. The very maritime base is a bit out of kilter but as she is part of the Wako Pirate unit in my Samurai army it cant be helped.

ree

The Treasure Hunter is another Pirate by TPGEO. This time a very dynamic pose, probably more pirates of the Carribean III than Samurai but will do a job should I ever take one in the Warband. These were painted with speedy type paints unlike the earlier models and they look quite different.

ree

The final TPGEO mini making the Warband is the Ranger, pictured here with a 9 tailed Fox Warhound - a Kitsune. As Warhounds go this is not the most obviously fearsome and might get replaced but I like the look of it for now. Once again the Ranger is a pirate model but Bow armed to indicate his archery skills. The little nodules on the Kitsune are due to me cocking up the print to be honest but can I be bothered redoing it? Obviously not!

ree

The Barbarian (Sumo wrestler by Kyoushuneko) is a figure I was tempted to take in the strating warband but in the end I went for a Knight due to it's armour but I think I will buy in one after a couple of games if possible. It is a great mini and one of a range of different Sumo available from Kyoushuneko. the base is also 3d by Cobramode.

ree

The Knight here is a starter in the Warband despite being eaten by a bear in a practice game - accidents happen.... The hittiness and armour should add a bit of solidity I hope. Would be good for bulling a treasure token out of a melee and survivable enough to take a hit. That is the theory anyway although speed 5 is a tad slow. The Knight is also TPGEO from the Jade Empire release.

ree

Finally we have the Paladin - a mini I expect not to use but included for completeness. This again is TPGEO from their generic Horse Lords / Mongol type release. Its a nice enough mini but I am not thinking it will be better than other options at the moment. More experience may prove me wrong - it often does - but for now he will be cheerleading from the sidelines.

ree

In the starting crew I will have the Knight joined by two Samurai infantry and a choppy man at arms as well as two Thugs and Two Thieves. I feel it is short on missile threat but hopefully will add that later.
